I noticed that I get updated traffic reports on my navigation. Where is the navigation getting the information? Is it getting the information from a service that we have on a trial basis? If so how long is the free service? Any information would be appreciated. I still use a flip phone so go easy on me.

Thanks. Now I assume I have a HD radio. Is this a service like the trial XMradio for a period of time? If so how do you renew the service? Who is it through?

    It's in most/all major metro areas...free.

I don't live in an area where hd radio is available, but I can access traffic and weather though the Entune app downloaded to my iPhone and bluetoothed to the head unit.

Just an FYI that this is available. Only bad part is that the head unit updates the firmware with a bunch of junk that you cannot remove after installing (like Facebook and I heart radio).

Both traffic and weather come from HD radio signals, as pointed out above. If you enter an area without the proper radio signal it will switch to your phone for data, but it has to be enabled in the settings and the Entune app needs to be installed.

Both are free services for the life of the truck.

weather and traffic is updated via clear channel radio stations.

tune to one and it should update within 1-2 minutes.

I find it is not as accurate as Waze. Once again relying upon my phone for best navigation and most updated/accurate road info
