I have an interesting issue. I ordered LED replacement bulbs from superbrightleds.com. I've replaced the bulbs in my interior cab, and license plate lights. All good, except for one set of bulbs. The passenger side mirror lights won't work with the new bulbs. Same bulbs work on the driver's side though. Put old bulbs in, they work. The set I used tonight are 2 new ones I just reordered. Just can't figure why they wouldn't work there, but they do on the driver's side and the old bulbs work when reinstalled. See enclosed photos of both. Last photo has the LED on one side and old bulb on the other. Any ideas from the Taco experts here would be helpful. Thanks in advance. :notsure:

Have you tried flipping them over? They only work one way.

Thanks for the response. Yeah - I did try flipping them (in both sockets actually, just for the hell of it). Really bizarre - not run into anything like this one. Haven't metered the slots yet, may try that next. BTW - thanks for your service. Noted Marine Corp Globe n' Anchor. Just retired from Navy after 40 years.

I would have missed that too on the LEDs ... happy retirement ... enjoy your new Tacoma ... you deserved it.

I learned something today on those LEDs.

ha! seen this while working on digital flight computers, mainly the F16's n the early 80's....Sperry Flight Systems now Honeywelll...in manufacturing it is quite possible they used the wrong part in assembly., wrong bin so to say....they work with the base design and fail with replacement parts....my case and experience operational amplifiers...not sure they use today as I have no proprietary eyes into their design....bottom line is assembler "a" used the right parts, assembler "b" used what they had left, albleit the wrong part for some other assembly....looked the same, (for some other system) my best guess having come from that background out of the Navy advanced electronics field into the real work in the early 80's and beyond. Really no telling its a " FRU " world.......Take it to the dealer and have them resolve.

Thanks, but not giving up yet. Since old bulbs work, it's not critical mass yet.

Did you try putting the original bulbs back in the driver side and try led on passenger side. That will tell you if there is improper draw on the circuit( not enough resistance).

Have not tried both bulbs that way, but will try that and see what happens. Thank you.

I have a limited that I swapped out with LEDs and have had no problem, try and see if any of the other LEDs work in that socket if you haven't done so yet

I figured it out (credit goes go doubletaco). Through my own laziness, I was doing this in the dark and didn't have the readers on. So ,when I thought I was flipping them over, I was not. So, now a graduate of the University of Duh! :homer: Popped them in this morning in the "correct" direction and they worked fine. Thanks all for the responses. Old age is catching up to me I guess. :yay:
