Best bet might be to call them on the phone. Advantage of using paid software instead of freeware is that there's actually someone on the other end to take your call. But... today is April 15, and folks can file with the IRS all the way thru Monday April 18. So the lines are likely swamped until Tuesday.

Well I'm in no rush. It's not like it's effecting me but I'd like for it to be right haha. I mainly use it just to keep up with inventory.

Solid question. I prefer to pretend QB online doesn't exist as I hate that shit with the fiery passion of 1,000 suns lol.

One option for you may be to try and find a certified QB pro advisor that could come train you for an hour or 2 on what you need to know since you are not in a time crunch.

Desktop. Pro edition. I'd rather be able to access quickbooks if internet goes down.

Good call. Plus they change the online edition all the time testing out the updates. You can get on on Friday and know where everything is at and on Monday it will be totally different.

One way that may be easier is if you go to the Banking tab across the top and click on the first line which should be "write checks". That will bring a screen up that has a check image on it. From there you can select the account that the money is coming out of using the top drop down box (will probably already be your normal bank acct) and just write the check to your credit card company for the date the charge occurred and for the amount it was for. It will be just like writing a normal check in a physical checkbook. Then where it has the expenses and items tabs towards the bottom (expenses tab should be default. Stay on that tab) you can select the account the money is going in to, ie the credit card account. The only thing you want to make sure of using this method is that you don't have the box labeled "to print" checked otherwise it will not assign a check # but will just have "to print" on the top right of the check image on screen. That should get the charge entered in both accounts.

You can even use that process to enter past charges. You may get a warning message about the date being older than 90 days but that is not a problem. Obviously you don't want to enter a past charge from a year you have already closed out and had taxes done already.

    Hehehheh. OK.

It's 16 years into the 21st century man. Online is coming, whether we like it or not. :lalala:

The thing that's insanely great about Online is it make accountant collaboration trivially easy. No more "burning accountant copy" CD and shipping it around.

Accountant logs in. Owner logs in.

I mean it still pretty easy. When I have too, I just email my quickbooks file and bam.
