Been looking around for answers and coming up dry. I've got an 880 Bearcat and 4' firestik on the way. I plan to usa a HD spring, unless someone has good success with the med duty.

I'm wanting to mount my CB antenna on the front rail of my 2nd gen, like pictured below. Is there a mount made for this or what do I need to make this work? Also how long a coax should I get? I was looking at the 9' firering but afraid it won't reach far enough. 18 however seems WAY too long.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Look at "E-pay" - type in "CB Antenna Mirror Mount" - the heavy aluminum, angle bracket mounts will be there. Leave off the clamp side of the bracket and invent a piece to fit into the rail?

Just about any universal mount will work on the bed rails. I would avoid the fire ring coax. It's known to have corrosion issues. Go with the 18 foot coax and figure eight the excess.

Radio Shack? I thought they were all gone.

Planning center console install, sadly I don't have time to make a remote mount. Otherwise it would be going in the cubby hole.

I measured today. 9ft should work.

There's a few left, I had to get a different end for the cable I bought.

I made the mistake of asking the guy at the local "off road" shop to give me everything I needed to install the radio.

Well I ended up with a Uniden Bearcat 880, 4' Firestik with Firering, went with one I have to install the connector myself so I can cut to length and have something smaller to feed through the grommet. I'm just having to custom build my own bed rail mount. Relentless fabrication and Armortech were going to take too long. After all Cruise Moab is in just over 2 weeks. Should be able to install this weekend.
