I'm right where you're at. What's funny is that as a Civil Eng major I will never use this stuff (unless I go into structural) I already have my FE (EIT) certificate and 10 years work experience, Didn't need much calculus in that exam either. Now I just need the degree.

hmm, never heard of a class called that. My calc classes order goes: 251(differential), 252(integral), 254N(vector), 321(applied diff eq.), 253N(sequences and series), 451(numerical methods)

oh, yeah, my bad. Well, I had that class last spring but the teacher was horrible and I started doing really bad so I dropped it on the last day I could. I'm registered for it again winter term with a much better math teacher I've had in the past. I'm also taking PHY222, Math 361(statistics), and strengths of materials. 16 credits of math hell :/

Dont worry about it trust me if it comes down to it its always easier the second time (i know from experience) Just wait for vibrations or dynamic feedback controls now those classes were a pain. If you are lucky enough to have any girls in your classes try studying with them cause they always study more then guys.

By the way im a ME from NCSU class of 08

Hopefully it doesn't come down to having to retake the class. I have another test and a final, so hopefully i can bring up my grade to a B. We'll see what happens. Thanks for the advice guys i was really pissed off about the grade, but i'm feeling better about it now.

I got my Civil Degree in 2008 with an emphasis in Structural. I took 2 graduate level Structures classes and did not use that crap. The old school guys might, but what is important is that you atleast understand what the computer programs are doing and why they are doing it. Other than that, sit back and watch.

ps. and enjoy the paycheck, you deserve it!

The FE requires either junior status in an ABIT engineering program or 3 years work experience experience. I qualified both ways when I took it. It is really an easy exam if you prepare. I mean it's multiple choice and you get the equation reference book. Just do a bunch of practice problems and get familiar with what they will ask. The other trick is to get an HP-33 or HP-35 calculator and program it, if you don't know RPN input learn it. Having a calculator programed will save you huge amounts of time, The Hp calc is a better tool for the exam, since you're limited on types of calcs you can take with you.

I know its pretty easy. Where i'm at, the university makes us take old FE exams to advance. I've already passed an old test once.
