With Napa filter days going on,I had my wife pick up some filters for the tacoma. I have always used the Napa Gold/Wix filters in my vehicles, but these filters are now made in china. Also as you can see in the photos the Napa filter is a little shorter. Whats everyone opinon on the Napa filter? Will it allow junk to pass by being shorter? Do you think the quality is comprimised being made over seas now ?

How much is a Napa filter compared to the OEM? As you can get a case of 10 of the OEM for about 35.00 to 40.00 shipped???

Whoa, 3rd gen filter way different then 2nd gen. Like Napa Gold filters, have run them for years with no problems. No input on this particular filter.

Just run a quality filter (read OEM) and oil and call it good.

You have a warranty to think about. And while I know it's just an oil filter and by law they have to prove it caused the issue blah blah blah.

Run OEM everything for now and call it a day, worry about non OEM stuff after warranty runs out

I was able to get the Napa Gold filters for $4 a piece with filter days going on normally $9.

Toyota filters tend to be very good and not really much more then aftermarket.

4.50 for OEM I think that would be the route for me, but to each their own.

I wasnt buying them for the money savings. I was buying them because WIX is a brand i have grown up seeing used by my dad, grandpa, used in industrial equipment for companies ive worked for, nascar, and ive always used them. I also agree that the OE Toyota filters do seem to be of good quality tho. Its just hard to break everything ive ever known about filters, and quality.

Is the Napa filter any worse than the Thailand made OEM Toyota filters?

Get something that's made in USA and your van motor will be fine.

Being made in China could mean less quality control
