Ok so i have a 96 2.4l with 131000 on the clock. truck ran great with no problems till a few days ago. What got it started was my son wanted to go out in the tacoma. Now the truck ran great until we pulled into the drive and then it went to hell. I got my son out and took him in to the house to his momma came back out to take the truck to a local meet. When i got into the truck i noticed i had no temp reading ( temp hand droped to cold) i aired the truck up went to pull out and truck had no power spit and spudder.ok so now i figured temp sensor and ecm thinks its neg 40 degrees. So next day i replace both sensors one at rear of engine and one on front pass side with no luck. Now in the days past i have replaced mass air flow tps o2 sensors fuel press regulator plugs wires cap rotor button fuel filter with no results. Timing has been checked and also i have no cats. I have had fuel lines off bed and have noticed even with changing the regulator im still running very rich and am not getting any returned fuel to the tank. I have checked the lines and they are all clear. Im to the point of pulling what hair i have left out. Please help anyone. Thank you

Fuel pump is working... if the relay was bad the pump wouldn't work would it?

The distributor. Not the cap. It's the whole distributor, sounds like a bad coil. It Gives out unstable volts, not consistent witch causes misfire and backfire
