Problems with A/C controls lighting

Hey all,
Just need some quick advice. Earlier this year, I installed a pioneer head unit in my '11. Of couse, I had to take out my A/C control panel. But, when I put it back, the right side light didn't light. I took it back off, saw that the bulb was loose, so I took it out and put it back in place. But of course, it didn't light up. So I took it back out to inspect the bulb more closely, saw it was fine, put it back in, it lit but only for a while, then went dark again. So I took it off one more time, removed the bulb.

So to recap, this bulb has been removed 3 times, and reinstalled twice, AND THAT'S ALL IT TOOK to completely rub off all of the copper coating on the pcb where it screws in. So now, with most of the copper gone, it will not light. Please help me fix this. I was thinking about just taking it out and trying to tin where the copper rubbed off of it with some solder, but not sure if that will work. If it doesn't, could I just get some very small wire and solder the bulb directly to what little copper remains on the pcb?

The copper is not COMPLETELY gone, but almost so, enough to where when the bulb is screwed it it gets no connection

That's incredible. How well does it work?/How easy is it to apply?

 

Very easy to apply, and works well. However, it is not like an etched trace, so the conductive paint will scratch off rather easily, which means if that bulb is continually inserted and removed, the paint may need to be reapplied.

 

Will it hold up just to get it in once?

 

It will probably hold up once. No guaranties, but worth a try.

It did not, I put the paint on the pad and it rubbed off after one time of turning the bulb in. That stuff is super fragile. Im thinking about just tinning it, just flood the pad with solder. Thoughts? Suggestions?

 

Sorry to have misled you. Hoped it might have worked in your case.

You could try a solder pad, but not sure how good of a connection you will get with the bulb not soldered to it, but just resting on it.

You may have to go with the soldered wire step.
