I've got a 1998 Toyota Tacoma with a 3.4l engine and put 33x12.50's on it and was wondering what gears should I put in it to give it a little more get up and go. If you could help it would be greatly appreciated.

a/t m/t? what gears are in it now? iv got an M/T and 4.56 gears, 33x12.50s, the gears are uncomfortably steep for highway speeds.

if you have an Auto tranny and a 4cy you might want the gears but there wont be much of a difference. I had 3.58 gears and 33's I only switched because the ring gear blew up. With the v6 manual tranny and 4.56's the RPMs are a little high at highway speed.

4.88 should give you decent bottom end, but as mentioned by others, on the top end you may see higher RPMs at highway speed...
