I haven't finished reading to get caught up so I don't know if someone said this yet or not but I would recommend that you point those horns facing down. You don't want water to collect inside of them.

Good idea. No one mentioned that before but definitely a good idea now that you've mentioned it. Will fiddle with it and move them down. Thanks for the tip!!

Thinking about one day taking the grill off again and painting the radiator black now, like peeps do when they get a Satoshi grill, even though I just have the plain boring stock grill.

Looks like a great time. Beautiful area.

Do you know a guy named John with a Tacoma in your neck of the woods? He's from Whitehorse too.

Installed a power rear window for less than $100.

I bought a cheap regulator from Ebay that goes to a Chevy Impala. I took it apart, threw away the cables and mount, recabled it with bicycle derailleur cables and made a new mount out of some aluminum flat plate. I used derailleur housing and inline adjusters for tensioning. Had a friend make me BenWas bracket for the window (the most expensive component

    IMG_17931_zpszoenqyml_f2df14966087b429b88c4d13feb86aa984e739ce.jpg

I mounted it in the middle between the two cubbies. Used some double sided 3M tape to secure the mount and put a couple of screws into the cross rail behind the seats. Intent was to have it completely concealed but I missed by about an inch so I had to trim a little of the corner of the driver side cubby. No big deal, I'll seal it later with a couple of pieces of plastic.

    IMG_17941_zps1eljgs5j_c2365cf8f6dab72a7bad88d6690fbc06ce61ba57.jpg

Here it is all mounted up

Used a DPDT switch and mounted it just below the 4WD button. What a pain getting that piece out to cut the hole for the switch!

Now my back seat partner gets her own window to the world

That looks sweet! I've been playing around with the idea but getting the cable length perfect is a bit too intimidating for me. I'd much rather buy a kit.

You can mount it upside down up near the rear view mirror with just a sticky base. Very similar to the 3rd gens and doesn't obstruct vision.

I fabricated a mount using a flat piece of .090 aluminum and attached it to the Rear View Mirror Mast with an Adel Clamp. I used the same screw to secure the mount to the Adel Clamp that is used to secure the Adel Clamp around the mast.

No kits I know of. BenWa isn't selling them. You can buy a regulator for the window from a Dakota (I think) that has cables long enough, but you will still need to get a bracket made up for our windows. Don't be intimidated cause it really is pretty easy. Hardest part was getting the new cables all wound around the spool and back in place. Ruined one set of cables and had to redo it, but they only cost $5 each retail (got lots as I work a day or two a week in a bike shop). I found out that I needed to wedge something in place to hold the cable ends in their slots on the spool or they could come unseated and flop out, resulting in a big mess! I mounted the regulator in place and kept the cables full length. Then I trimmed the cable housing to length once I figured out how I wanted to route it. Passenger side cable was only 3 or 4 " too long. Driver side (since the mount location is not centered and closer to the driver side) had about 18 to 24" too much cable. I used 7' total of cable housing.

It's all hidden behind the seat's and storeage cubbies. I could post video of the window sliding, but there are dozens of them up on the TW site since this isn't anything new. Anything you want to see in particular, I may have a shot of it.

Yeah he bought some towing mirrors from me and I had a hell of a time getting them shipped out to him. That's the reason I remembered Whitehorse right away. Looks really beautiful there!
