ABS Code 44: Deceleration sensor circuit

    I changed my brake fluid a while back and have been getting an intermittent ABS code 44. The FSM shows that means that the deceleration sensor circuit is either shorting or the wiring is not connected correctly.

    I've done a considerable amount of reading on toyota forums about the code 44 and most of the time it seems to show up with a code 32 on 1st gen 4Runners and Tacomas.

    Where the heck is the deceleration sensor and how do I fix it or replace it if it needs to be fixed? The FSM tells you how to diagnose it but not where it is. Has anyone else dealt with this problem?

    Here is the diagram type you are looking for. This one is from a 2000. On a 99 "A9" is all the way up in the left corner, almost exactly where "D24" is shown below.
