Does any body with transmission shifting issues had have any help when file a complain with the dealer?.
I have report the issue three times and all they say is "we can't find anything wrong"
really?, you don't need any high tech test equipment, just take it for a test drive specially uphill. the problem is so evident the truck is under power you can step on the gas and the truck hardly moving, it shift erratically and the list goes on and on, but they can't duplicate the problem.
does anybody considering independent test and file a lawsuit?.
I don't know what to do.
P.S, I'm in El Cajon California.

Have you driven the truck with the tech? If not, maybe you should so you can point out what you're complaining about.

first, get the dealer to check transmission fluid levels. Second, the transmission needs about 1k to learn your driving style and assign a transmission map that's close to it. This has been extensively covered in other threads

This is a huge major problem with 3rd gens. Most likely linked to low transmission fluid. Some members have had their entire transmissions replaced. Just fill it up with fluid first to see if that helps.

mine does the same. 5100 miles and still looks for gears constantly. very disappointed with performance.....Toyota knows it...now they need to re-map the tranny software. when is the big question.

I took mine last week because beside the erratic shifting I got a check engine light + Trac off. they keep it for couple of days I got it back last Friday they told me it was a "speed sensor". It runs bad when I drove off the dealer but after that incident it's been running good.
I hope it was a final fix.

Took mine to dealer was 1.5 qt low. It ran slightly better. Wish they had kept the 4.0 engine. Had more grunt! Oh we'll see what happens down the road.
