Probably a question that's already been asked but,

For the AccessCab are people still putting it at 1 3/4" overhang as per the instructions with positive wind noise results? I've heard mixed reviews. The stock mounting location double cabs are definitely farther back than where the instructions say to put mine. Any input before I drill this thing?

Put the wind screen at the lowest setting and see. Putting the rails too far foward can have the screen touching your windshield. In my doublecab, the screen almost touches the windshield at the lowest setting, and I get almost no noise.

For the double cabs, no drilling right? Just removing/popping a hole in the weatherstripping cover? When do you get noise?

Yep, pretty easy for DCs. I get wind noise with crosswinds. Since I live in Colorado this means during the springtime I get it most of the time on my way to work on 470. But let's all be honest here, I've got a 2013 TRD Sport DCSB and the A pillar whistle hum is the crosswind noise that I dread the most so I barely register any additional roof rack noise.

What setting do you have your wind screen set to? I bet the crosswind noise is from the slots cut in the side of the track. A pillar whistle, from crosswinds?

It's known as the Tacoma kazoo, and not affectionately. Every now and again someone claims to have it fixed by duct taping 3 condoms and a hotdog to some section of the weather stripping and then announces a week late that it's back. I had it before the Prinsu, and I had it before my weathertech window hoods. It sounds like Chewbacca's mating call.

For those of you using leather punches on the weather stripping... do you still have to cut through the metal in the weather strip or will the punch cut through it and everything is taken care of in a single blow?

Will those bolts slide back and forth on the track? Also it looks like your track mounted to the shell has a slight angle to it, down towards the outside. Try fastening the outside bolts first loosely, then the inside bolts.

Bolt the mounting "feet" to the crossbar first then bolt the rack to the shell

Looks very nice. What kind of light bar is that? Did you run the wire down the windshield like everyone else or into the cab and down the pilar?

Lightbar is the cheap Xprite listed below - 30" I picked up for $52 now looks like it's listed for $65. It's okay, get some wind noise and the way it's mounted like 1/4 of the light is blocked but it sits below my cross bars which I need. Definitely worth it for the money. And yes I used 16 ga lamp cord and it fit perfect down the windshield.

I'm mounting backup lights on the back rack and am having trouble figuring out where to run those wires... cleanest would be drill a hole through the top of the cap.
