This is what I got. Super easy. Just cut out the grille and screw it in. But I did get it a little cheaper through autoanything.com http://www.grillcraft.com/applications/1998_Toyota_Tacoma_Pre-Runner.aspx/1|7/261/

This was before I had the light bar on but you can see the mount in there. The part that's hanging down is what I had to cut.

It's just an inexpensive chinese bar. Just thought they were cool lol. Light output is still pretty good for being behind the grille and also chinese lol

Awesome thanks! I'll probably wait till its BAMFs deal of the day to save a little more and buy it. Then mount it and check what needs to be trimmed

Does anyone know if a 2004 model tacoma bed will fit a 1999 tacoma or in other words, will a 01-04 bed fit our 98-00 tacomas? Theres a very clean bed for sale on CL locally for $500. Mines dinged and scratched with a little bondo too.

I'm about 99% sure it will... the tail lights are swappable so I don't think the bed changed at all

By "swappable" that means I can use 98-00 tail lights on the 01-04 bed? Or I will need to swap my 98-00 tail lights for 01-04 tail lights to make the bed work?

    Thanks for the feedback!

I mean you can use 01-04 lights in an 98-00 bed. in other words, that part of the bed didn't change, and I know I've seen 01-04 cabs swapped on to older frames after roll overs or what have you... so I doubt they arbitrarily changed the mounting points for the bed. the 00-01 change was mostly just cosmetic anyways...

10:4 That clears it up. Someone also mentioned that the fuel tank neck might be different but from everything I have seen, it does not look like that's the case. I may take a look at this thing in person. I am in no real rush to change them out but if there's a good deal that floats by, might as well take a look.

Here is my late and slow contribution. I picked it up winter of 2010 and it has been a slow growing hobby since then. Most use has been for a couple months a year and stored at the folks place in Mt while I went back up north- didn't want to wear it out on the Alcan.
    Short list of mods:
OME 883 and Bilstein 5100s up front,
Daystar AAL- POS- each one cracked in 2 places, but an excuse to go OME!
    Deck plate mod
    140 amp alternator
    ARB bull bar
    self fab'd rear bumper
OME Dakar leafs withh AAL, and greaseable OME shackles
    Bilstein 5125s aft.

Post OME Dakar leaves and 5125s. Next Relentless sliders, then maybe Tundra disc upgrade.
    Slower but sure
