My last vehicle was a corolla. Nice car but the Tacoma is waaay better for me. I can't say the same for my wallet though. Screenshot_2013-08-31-17-44-59-1.jpg

FINALLY swapping out these brakes that shake my steering wheel wildly when coming to a stop.

    Hawk LTS Pads
    Brembo Blank Rotors
SS Brake Lines (because I had them leftover from a customer's Reg Cab Farm Tug upgrades)

Mine are doing that shit too, 27k miles and 11 months of ownership annoys the piss out of me that they are warped this soon. My 98 s10 had oem rotors on it and 150k before they warped

I've heard many different opinions (professional and amateur) on why the steering wheel shakes during braking only. I figured the best bet would be to start with a fresh set of rotors and pads installed correctly with the wheel lug nuts torqued BY HAND. I also followed the proper bed-in procedure on tirerack's website. Hopefully the problem doesn't return. I've driven for 40,000 miles with a shaking steering wheel during braking.

I SUSPECT that since my truck had a few miles on it when I bought it new at the dealership, someone did dirty deeds to the brakes before I bought the truck. It was simpler for me to change them myself instead of trying to convince a service manager at Toyota to change them for me under warranty.

I mentioned it at my 25k oil change and they said they would replace my rotors for 120

After a little over a year they replaced mine for free because I had the braking at highway speed shakes. Was good for a couple of years, now they're back.

Did they install your wheels with a torque wrench or air impact? I've heard this could be a cause of the rotor issue. Another claim is uneven deposits left on the rotors from braking.
