Back in 1998, I bought my first new vehicle. It was a black Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6 4x4 Access cab with a manual 5 speed transmission.

I loved that truck. I was 21, had a sweet ride and could imbibe in the brown water legally! I swore I'd keep it so my future offspring could drive it.

Well... 1999 rolled around and all of the sudden girlfriend became wife. Shortly after that, the wifey starts to let herself go... and blames it on pregnancy... whatever. Shortly after that, the Tacoma became a 4Runner... shame spiral initiated.

Personal confession: I have Automotive A.D.D - Since 1998, I've cycled through:1999 4x4 4Runner, 2004 Volvo XC70 (To see what being a liberal was like), 2005 Jeep Wrangler, 2006 4x4 6speed manual AC Tacoma, 2008 4x4 4Runner Urban Edition (Access cab in a parking lot was less than ideal when reaching in the back), 2010 2 door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4X4, 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

So here we are, 2016 and I brought home a Tacoma double cab in traffic cone orange.

Yep, that's the story. Build thread to get started. Parts ordered, just waiting for that magical delivery guy to grace me with the goods.
