Well, a lot of that money came from the sale of a motorcycle, but still nice to have a decent income for the first time in my life.

I texted you yesterday about the spindle gussets, did you not get it? Still thinking I shouldn't attempt welding those given my lack of experience. Hoping you were around on Saturday to get those welded up.

Maybe I should just try it myself. Really want to get working on this thing, and that's the last step holding me up from swapping all the front end parts.

Also confirmed I have a toasty front wheel bearing I don't want to drive on, which the other spindles will alleviate.

Feel like I running out of time to get this thing together before wheeling happens. :goingcrazy:

It's less Tacoma and more mod
What kind of welder are you using to weld to the cast spindles. If your using stick you'll want a rod with high nickel content to get a good bond. Either way you'll want to preheat the cast part before you go at it.

MIG seams to be the typical practice. I'd be concerned with heat/warping with stick.

you can drive on toasty wheel bearings just fine for damn near a year, no problem. 8 months easily.
I know you've seen the pics. :annoyed:

The vibration is driving me crazy though. It's gotten progressively worse and turned into a continual hum while driving, and gets worse at higher speeds.

mine did too, I just assumed it was tires because the wheel bearings had been "replaced"
Was much quieter when they were really "replaced"

Well, I decided since I've got other vehicles to drive, I might as well just rip this thing apart. A bit different then mine norm of tossing everything together really quickly without taking the time to do things properly.

Testing bump with my existing bumps. Got a whole 8 5/8" of travel between bump and maxing out the stock UBJ.

    upload_2016-4-19_19-18-35.jpg

Mounted the Wheeler's Super Bumps to the stock rear location. I've read this is the better location for it as it's a bit further from the LCA to the frame. Hit's it a little sideways:

    upload_2016-4-19_19-24-6.jpg

Thinking about trimming a bit of an angle to it so it hits straight, but I don't know how much that would help. It does compress all the way down to the other bump, with a decent bit of resistance. So it should do it's job.

Do not cut the bump. I did that with my first set. It didn't work well. I ended up ordering new ones. The bump will do its job without the angle cut. You won't gain much if you do.

All this badassery on the truck....

Now you're going to have to take a vacuum and some wet wipes to the interior. :D

He is going to need a lot more then that. Have you sat in that truck? There are stains every where. That is the next mod. New interior.
