... ^^^ ... Nice scenic pic of your truck

My truck is 13 days old, with about 350 miles and only a few "thuds" when slowing/stopping ... love this truck.

It seems a lot bigger than my last Gen. 2 ... but it's the look of the front end ... and it sits very high for a 4x2.

No issues whatsoever with over 3k on my '16 4X4 SR5 auto with tow pkg.
But if I listen to all the so called problems this truck is supposed to be having here on TW, my wheels should be falling off just about now...

BTW, my mileage (MPG) is GREAT!
Some PPL complaining about it should be airing up their tires to within 3psi of max load that is stated on the tire.

I like these threads. My trucks been with the dealership for 2 weeks with a busted diff, low ATF, rumble strip feeling when stopping, hood flez etx, but threads like this give me hope that my truck can be fixed!

I am so torn. I'm upset because you guys are having the experience I expected to have, but my truck had me regretting the purchase a little. Toyota's initial response was lackluster, but after I looped in corproate they've been excellent. So it's hard to be super upset with them.

Are you gents with no issues feeling that vibration between 2100-2500rpm? I noticed it in mine, but never paid much attention to it. That's not even one of the issues its still I'm the shop about. If you aren't feeling it maybe it's something else I should have the address.

First off, busted diff?? What size tires are you running??
    NVM, whatever, $hit happens dude.
    Low trans??
That wouldn’t cause drivability issues as the computer would compensate unless it was bone dry, and then it wouldn't move. Nice try though.
    Rumble strip feeling when stopping??.
Break loose all your tires by hand while the vehicle is on the ground, taking note how tight or how over tighten they are.
Raise the vehicle on jack-stands and hand tighten evenly in a cross pattern to specified torque.
Lower the vehicle on the ground, give them a snug to make sure they’re tight, problem solved!
Hood flex?? Take a 4 runner or GMC for a test drive on rough streets and let me know what you think about your hood flex now….
    Toyota's initial response was lackluster??
I have never known a Toyota dealer’s response to be lackluster.
They take it very seriously and are very concerned with corporate customer care.
Unless of course the concern is without merit or they are totally baffled or the complaint is so small as to considered “normal”.
Best of luck, it’s a wonderful truck, millions of ppl swear by them.
    Cheers!

I'm not going to argue with you. I'll post a pic of the invoice when I get it back. Everything is stock. ~3000miles on the odo. I was as shcoked as you seem to be with my list of issues.

Firstly, IMO, all new vehicles need to meet emission requirements while trying to improve fuel economy. To do this, most manufacturers use "fly by wire" control of the engine and transmission so a computer is calculating a whole bunch of data to get us going in any gear at any speed. So some stumbles and hesitations and pauses are normal. This engine and tranny combo does a lot of shifting between 6th, 5th, and 4th during normal driving especially between 6th and 5th. In my experience if enough throttle is given the engine is a smooth accelerator and gladly revs up. If yours is "stumbling" constantly tell them you want it fixed, period. I hope this helps...

Good to hear someone's got a solid truck, that said. I'm perplexed by your first statement asking about tire size then followed by NVM shit happens. Is this in ref to the diff issues he's had and you're shrugging it off? If I'm mistaken please correct me.

Transmissions, if there isn't sufficient fluid it will cause drivability issues, doesn't have to be bone dry.

Break the tires loose by hand? Are you referring to the lug nuts and them being over torqued? I've seen that before but haven't seen it be the cause of the rumble stop feeling, I've seen warped rotors cause it.

Good flex, it's there but I never paid it any attention in the 4Runner I had, as it was minimal.

Thankfully you've had a receptive dealer. My experiences with them are middle of the road. Some are awesome others need schooling in customer service. I've had to engage corporate before to get traction with a dealership over the lack of response and accountability from a dealership.

No issues, complaints, or remorse. It's even better than I had expected. 2300 miles so far.
