Mostly true but, with some exceptions. Not sure which states will restore gun ownership for convicted felons and which won't but, it appears RI will not. Of course if he was convicted by the federal government, all bets are off.

Also, that conviction could've been expunged by completion of probation.

Depends on a lot of variables.

Violent felonies can not be expunged, and I believe shooting your wife in the face would be called violent.

But yes, to many unknowns in this case.

I'd agree 99% of the time, but the CA judicial system is extremely special.

So now I leave the 1% possibility for anything.

I had a situation with a drug addicted bipolar guy going on a multi week felony grand theft and assault binge and didn't see a day in jail when he was arrested after a hit and run while driving drunk.

7 felony charges in 2 weeks with a restraining order, history of RO violations where he was never caught trying to break into the house in the middle of the night, drug addiction and alcohol abuse, theft, assault, no show on court dates, etc.

After witnessing all of that and have no repercussions, I just have to leave room for horrific failures of the system.

    Thanks guys,

Got off the phone with the police a little while ago. They said his full charges were possession of a firearm by a felon, 2 x counts of assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct. He was also served with a no contact order for the 2 of us that work up front and the guy out back (Justin) is getting one for himself too. The guy is in court today but he also being held on another charge for another court. So hopefully we don't have to deal with this shit for quite a while.

    Story of the year.

Friends/brothers coworker/Fellow off road enthusiast/Army Ranger Veteran and his wife were murdered. Their own off road toy vehicles (a Wrangler and an Land Rover) were then used to transport their bodies to a disposal site. The killers then drove the vehicles off an embankment to dispose of them. However they didn't know what they were doing and high centered the LR. Friends had already reported them missing, and police obtained warrants to ping their cell phones. Before the killers could get rid of the LR, Search and Rescue helicopters had triangulated the cell coordinates and had located the vehicle that was still stuck. The killers fled to Eastern Wa and transferred their truck to their parents name, flagging authorities of the transaction and causing them to search the parents home finding the bloody truck. The killers fled in their parents car which was then later found in Arizona, where they had traded cars with an 'acquaintance' which was then later picked up by an automated plate scanner in southern Cali. It is suspected they are attempting to escape into Mexico.

The couple that was killed risked their lives to check on the safety of their neighbor that killed them the year before in the Oso Land slide.

More proof that humanity would be great if we could just get rid of the people.
