Anyone want to suggest what I should try to sell these things for? I've made several for friends and family. Everyone that does the camp ground thing loves these grates. It takes maybe 30 minutes to make one start to stop and to drink a beer.

The grill moves up and down or swings left and right with ease. Just drive the 3/4 pipe into the ground with the hatchet and slide the grate over the pipe.

All it is, is a pipe clamp adjustable foot welded to the octagonal grate frame. Ill hunt to see if I have a better pic of the clamp.

I have around $13 into the pipe clamps and maybe another $4 in pipe and iron.

Anyone want to make their own, you're welcome to it. I don't know if I thought it up on my own or I saw it somewhere. All I know is they are super simple to make and work better than just about anything else out there you can buy.

The second pic was when I was making dinner. A huge downpour occurred. I cut the foam off the but of an umbrella and stuck the handle in the pipe. Worked great.

The real question is what kind of beer ??

Don`t forget to factor in the cost of the beer.

without the pipe those could ship pretty easy have you thought of selling them on EBAY or you just want to keep it local.

The unwelding buy all sorts of stuff like this .

    $50.00 plus shipping ??

I was kinda leaning towards that price. I tend to take it for granted that everyone has a welder. Hard to imagine there are more "unwelders" then welders. (Love the term by the way)

Of course local would be preferred, but I have no issue shipping. I could ship the pipe, but just in 2 pieces with a coupler.

I can appreciate a craft beer, but I won't be spending $9 bucks on 4 beers too often. I'm just fine with a plain. old Coors Light.

How many of you guys are using a cold saw? I just got a Makita LC1230 and super happy with it. Infinitely better than my abrasive chop saw!

Ripped out 54 very clean accurate cuts in no time at all.

I've used them in the past. Been a while. It was very noisy.

I work in my shop at 3 in the morning, it would wake the neighbours, so got rid of it.

I wish I would have went with a cold saw instead of abrasive. I will probably get a band saw at some point though.

    X100!

If my portable band saw gave up the ghost tomorrow, I would have a new one an hour later. I bought my Milwaukee Port a band in 1998. It was one of the best investments for the fab work i do. I bet I have ran close to 100 blades thru it.

Yep a portaband is essentially a must have. I have one mounted vertically in a stand with foot pedal that I will continue to use constantly, and another under the bench for quick rough lops. I've considered getting a horizontal bandsaw too but just don't have the space.

I just can't get over how nice and clean the cold saw cuts! That's right out of the saw, no clean up.

it came off the truck I had to sell during the Divorce . and lives beside the tool box With the Steel Max D2

Sweet saw, I have the same one. I love it for for miter cuts on square tubing. Blades can be expensive but it cuts clean like a band saw faster than an abrasive chop saw and just as loud.

Well my first project is nearing an end. Just a bit of finishing touches to be done. Its got a coat of primer one it in the spots im done.

but for my first time every welding or even really working with metal Im pretty happy. If i were to do it again now it would be a lot better. I started with just one grinder and the welder plus a speed square (and 4 small 90 degree magnets from harbor freight). So it ended up not being perfectly square (off by about a 1/4"). I also learned ALOT about welding in general. And it shows in places lol. Its nothing id show to show about to brag about but the fact i built it im pretty happy with it! All thats left is adding another hinge to the door (i swear i bought three but could only find one), making the handle for towing it around, and making an extension cord holder.

I made the thing out of 1/4x1/4x 1/8 angle for the frame, 16 gauge steel for the shelves, and 22 gauge steel for the skin. Also used some 1/8" flat as supports for the shelf and some 1/2x1/2 square tubing will be for the handle and extension cord holder.

About 3/4" of the way through I picked up a bunch more tools which made finishing it so much easier. A 14 gauge shear (harbor freight but it turned out to work ok), a dewalt chop saw (cold cut saws are bit expensive and band saws take to much room for my current garage), some more 90 degree magnets (of various sizes), 90 degree jigs, and two more angle grinders (which were a two pack).

Just need ot decide what color to paint it. Itll just be a rattle can paint job. Might go red to match my tool chest but we will see.

Welding is so awesome. This trade has taken me so many places and introduced me to so many awesome people. Just saying. There's nothing better than looking forward to going to work. Getting off work and feeling like they practically paid you to do what you enjoy doing.
Stay safe out there brothers and keep that hood down   from Oklahoma

Took this pic last night. First time working night shift and its pretty sweet. b58b8f159f18fd7482604fe77214f79c_9ed8b2473777aa5fc1ac74f5d20f74e2c4ed0a83.jpg

Anyone have an idea on how to cut a perfectly rectangular hole into some 3/16ths steel?

I have access to a cutter not a table, I was thinking of drilling the holes in the corners and cutting between them with a straight edge and plasma cutter, I don't know if anyone has tried that.
