Got a buddy who's trying to talk me into buying a kayak saltwater fish with him. Me and my fiancé own 2 paddleboards. How hard is it to fish off the paddleboard. Never tried but I've taken the paddleboard surfing before so my balance is good. Been looking at the Bote SUP but they are pricey and don't know if I should
Try and sell one of ours for a bote. Any input if appreciated. Thanks.

the physical act of fishing from a paddle board is easy.........gear management is a whole different story. if you're going to do it regularly, make sure you have a board built for it, with ample tie-downs, and enough buoyancy to carry the extra gear without hindering paddling performance.

Lots of people do it. Look at an engel dry box lots of people run them as seats and they have rod holders attached.

Proper fishing kayaks are easier because they haul more shit and are more stable. SUPs will give you a bit more to focus on other than fishing. For example, fighting fish while standing and not dropping your paddle in the water or falling. Also, easier to keep dry and warmer when temps go cool. If you are in the surf, sit on top kayaks are good but SUPs are better than enclosed kayaks.

The Bote SUP boards have that tackle rack for lashing down a cooler, and hanging a backpack over--seems like a good idea if you need some storage. I've got some experience with the Aerobote Drift, but haven't fished from it.
