OP, just contact another dealership. Every dealership is different. Some aren't even worth clicking on a link to their website. Some are worth driving hundreds of miles to. I found one in my childhood hometown (400 miles away from me now) that is happy to order me the exact truck I want for $500 over invoice. I was able to negotiate all of that via email with a salesman and he never once insisted that I come in or give him a call. However, the other 20 something dealerships I have contacted offered very similar experiences to the one you had.

The apps give you multiple options to refine your search. You can search within your local zip code to a nation wide search. I wanted to fly one way to any state across the country and drive it home to get the best deal but the wife wasn't having it. I seen a grey Trd OR DC
4wd Auto with the tech package in I think Ohio, for $32k even and it only had 7200miles. Also seen a white sport DC 4wd auto with the tech package in New Mexico for $35+++k that had around 1500 miles,(used means negotiatable). Remember, a used Toyota will come with the extended 7year 100k mile warranty, so you're not just saving on overall cost of the retail price but also a nice chunk on the better extended warranty. To me it's worth the trip

well If you buy it and then ship it yourself after you drive it off the lot, they really cant do anything about it.

When we ordered a Sienna last year, we didn't even talk about price until it came in. I just said "We'll evaluate market conditions once you have it in inventory and I'm sure we'll be able to settle on an agreeable price for both parties". I ended up asking them to price-match a nearby Carmax-owned dealer that had very aggressive no-haggle pricing (which they used to advertise, and now you have to contact them-I imagine Toyota got pissed).

Once it's on their lot, it's the same as any other vehicle in inventory; they want to sell it ASAP. The $500 deposit most dealers ask for to order is usually refundable if you choose not to take delivery, and even protected by law in some states.

I'm in a similar boat trying to order a truck. I always thought you could just spec out a truck, give them money, and then get that exact truck X days later. Turns out that's NOT how it works, and I had to wait for my order to get filled. I wanted an Off-road quicksand with MT, and my dealer out here in bumblef*** Okalahoma somehow got an allocation less than two weeks after I walked into their dealership for what I want except in BLACK, my second choice. I think I'm going to take it!

Correct it is ridiculous, I have seen people posting 4x4s for 36k but again that was MSRP, I paid $32 no tech

    I think the folks that don't have PT/JBL forget that it's a $3700 package. It's not cheap!
