2016 toyota tacoma fog light anytime mod??

Did anybody did this yet I'm looking forward to do this on my truck?

 

smh, someone needs to read the manual

 

Or just turn the lights on and off to see what happens.

Turn your headlights to daytime lights and you can turn on your fog lights on.

 

on page 207 of the manual, it tells you how to have the fog lights on all the time

 

it says low beams or park lights have to be on

 

Yes parking lights need to be on for fogs to work. Unlike previous trucks where fogs would only work with headlights.

 

But they still will not work while high beams are on.... That's what I want....!!!

 

and what is the point of having fogs on when the high beams are on? if you need high beams you need the distance, which fogs do not help with.

 

More light is always better in the "boonies"...!!

 

the center most pin on the fog light relay is where you want to add 12v to turn them on.
the fog lights are approx. 8Amps. you can get 20A illuminated switch on ebay.
use a Circuit Fuse Tap Piggy Back MINI Blade Fuse Holder (also on ebay) to get power
from the interior fuse box. the switch can be mounted on the lower left of dash near
fuse box. the fog lights will turn off when you turn off the truck.

 

Have you done this on the '16 Taco..? Got any pics..? It was easy-peasy on the '06 Taco... Is it the same mod..?? If so, I'll do it tomorrow and take pics..!!!

 

No, currently I have all the parts to do it in my desk.
what I wanted was to be able to turn on the fog lights without the DDL.
what I did instead was just unplug the DDL and leave my fog lights on,
they will auto shut off when you turn off the truck and open the door.
if you are going to install a switch for the fog lights in the lower left dash,
you do not have to take all that section of the dash apart. the quick way
to do it is to just pop off the blank switch cover plate by using duct tape
and pulling it out. then run the wires through that hole, connect the wires
to the switch and then snapping the switch into place.

 

Just looking for an update, was the foglight mod on the 2016 ever completed? Any pics available?

Tired every combination, including the center pin, with no luck keeping the fogs on while high beams are on. Either I did not find a proper 12v fuse within the fuse compartment, or there are other electrical thing happening that I do not understand yet.

Still trying to figure it out.

 

I too want the ability to turn fogs on(which are Baja Designs Squadron Pro-R driving combo LED lights) on with the high beam. Light up the road like the sun.
My buddy has it in his Tundra. He can turn the fogs on with nothing else on.
