Ahhh, not sure about fairbanks area. You can drive the denali road at denali national park and find camping spots I think. Eureka is the wrong direction from.your end

    You been on the following:

    Fish Creek Trail?

    Osar Lake Trail?

These might be too difficult if you are still stock...

Alright, I'm have to replace my brake pads soon and I'm looking for opinions. I last changed my pads and rotors about three years ago and the rotors aren't warped. if I don't change the rotors do I need to do something to them to prep them for new pads?

Also, any recommendations for a good brake set up? I'm not going to do the big brake upgrade but I do tow a lot and I'd like extra stopping power/less fade.

Right now I'm running centric premium rotors and hawk LTS pads.

It helps if you get your rotors "turned" or something, I think that's what is called

Ok that's what I was wondering. I know if they're warped you can get them turned but honestly, I paid 40 bucks per rotor and they've lasted three years. Probably not worth turning them but who knows.

If they visible look fine then I wouldn't worry, unless you start wobbling when you apply brake pressure

There is a radiant red taco, access or double(can't remember), with an allpro apex front bumper color matched here in Laramie with Alaska plates. Any one on here?

so how do you guys like it up there in Alaska? im hoping to get orders up to Alaska here soon, either by anchorage or up by fairbanks, either way I'd be moving all my stuff myself and making the trip from Florida all the way up there if everything goes like I want it to. only big thing im concerned about is that truck is 2wd and ive never driven in the snow before. my 1980 is 4x4.....but it has no heater core in it anymore lol

I would defiantly invest in a 4wd or awd car if you've never driven in snow before

well I do have a 4x4 lol, it's just being resurrected at the moment lol, just need a new drag link and get the rear driveshaft shortened and everything for daily driving is mostly fixed. my tacoma is more geared towards high speed offroading

Beater with a heater during winter is all you need, you're not gonna be doing too much high speed off roading up here, at least to my knowledge you won't, is really rocky it most areas

Yeah you'll die with no heater..
You could get by in 2 wheel drive IF you're a skilled enough driver in the snow most of the winter in at JBER but in Fairbanks it's colder, darker and the snow stays longer.

If you're unfamiliar with snow you should do as Brandon said and get a beater with a heater or any other 4 wheel drive/awd
