"Hello, my name is Coosa and I just ordered my dream vehicle."

I appear to be in a minority as a woman and as a Senior Citizen buying a new Tacoma. Are there others here?

I can't post a photo because I don't have the truck yet. When I went to get my 2011 Corolla serviced [63.000 miles] and decided to "look" at what was available, I found out that my dream truck [TRD Off-Road LWB in Quicksand] was "on the assembly line" for my "local" [an hour away] Toyota Dealership and they could call and get the package [all the bells and whistles] added to it. They did. It will arrive toward the end of May.

1- I have never owned a pick up truck, but have said "my next car is a truck." And this time, it will be.
2- I have no plans to "off road" in the traditional sense, but I will be driving on Forest Service Roads and I need a 4WD to get to the highway from my house in the winter when it snows. I live down a gravel driveway.
3- I'm ordering a matching ARE TW series camper cap as soon as the truck arrives. I will be camping in it for six weeks this summer. [I used to be a backpacker and have hiked some of the Appalachian Trail -- less than 250 miles -- until my knees gave out. I have all the gear to tent camp, and may still use a tent until I buy a Travel Trailer.]
4- There is a Travel Trailer in my future [14-24 feet and less than 5500 GVWR].
5- I'm giving my Corolla to a granddaughter so she'll have a reliable car to use at College.
6- I believe this will be the last vehicle I buy ... I'm 71 1/2 ... so that's why I bought my dream vehicle. And that's why I am still grinning from ear to ear. No one knows what tomorrow may bring ... but I'm going to be driving my dream vehicle when tomorrow comes.

Thank you for having this website ... I hope to learn a lot and will ask questions.

I'm 24, so definitely not close in age, but I love my Tacoma. I'm sure you will love yours as well.

Good for you for being able to stay active! A couple years back I was hiking Katahdin in Maine and ended up descending the trail with a woman in her 70s. It so happened that she had the same pace as a (then 21) year old guy. To say I was impressed and she was inspirational would be an understatement.

Thank you ... age doesn't matter when you're behind the wheel of a Tacoma ... right?

Thank you. Now about that beer ... in my younger days, I planned to drink every beer made ... back then, there weren't but a couple hundred breweries and I could have achieved my goal, but I got busy doing other things ... However, today ... even my own daughter makes home-brew ... I'll never be able to reach that goal. So I changed goals. I bought a Tacoma!

As my son says "Never drink and drive. You night spill your beer."
