Does anyone know where you could plug them into so that they do stay on all the time that would be easily accessible?

Did this mod today and it all went well. Are some quick connectors in case I need to remind the grill. Also used a fuse tap on a fuse in the cab so that they always stay on.

Which LED's did you buy? That looks sick in combination with your bumper.

    Hi Guys,
I've been lurking around here getting all kinds of great ideas and learning from everyone. This weekend I did this mod on my 2016 putting four across the front. At first, I tapped into the drivers side DTRL and thought I was good. Two problems, they turned off when the headlights came on and when I turned on the left blinker, all four lights blinked. So then I tapped into the parking lights so now they come on with the headlights and don't blink but don't come on with the DTRL's. I would like them to do everything...use as blinkers, come on with the DTRL's and with the headlights. So, I'm thinking of tapping both wires and putting in diodes so I don't backfeed anything (don't know if it's necessary but don't want to take chances). I know I would need to split off two of the LED's to the passenger side so that I can get them to work properly as blinkers, but besides more work for me, does anyone see a problem doing it this way? Seems like all the threads I see are doing one or the other or using a switched source.

    Thanks!

    Shawn

Thanks for the input! The relay sounds like a good idea. Between 3 kids and practices, I probably won't get back to this until next weekend, but I'll let you know how it goes.

    LOL!!

Hi JohnNP. I could use your help with this. The more I look into relays, the more I'm getting confused. To use the lights as blinkers, I should have one relay for the right side and one for the left side. In order to use a relay to work the lights with both DTRL and parking lights, I would pick DTRL wire as my input on pin 30 and the output would be pin 87a. The parking light wire would be my trigger on pin 85 with output on pin 87. 86 would be ground. The wires from pins 87 and 87a would be connected to the positive wire of the lights. Is this anywhere near right?

Yes that looks right. I had to sit there and draw that shit out!! HAHAHA.....So yeah the DTRL 30 to 87a will have your DTRL run the lights and they will come on when the DTRL's are on. Then when you use your blinkers if the parking light wire is the blinker light which I think it is then yes the 85 to 86 should then make the 87a become open and the 87 become closed and 'blink' Now the question I wonder about is will that then cause the lights to blink at a different rate because it's blinking not just on the 87 but it'll also light up on the 87a when the blinker is off and not going thru the 85/86. If you don't mind that then yeah...that should work. :)

Thanks for the confirmation. Yeah, I had to draw it out too!
I didn't think about what happens when the blinker is on. I'll try a mock up and see how things go before I do the final wiring.

    Good catch!

I had a little time to work on the lights but not enough to mock up the relays. Since I was already half way there, I went with taking power from both the DTRL wire and the parking wire. I put diodes in the wires to be safe. It works as planned...kind of. The lights are on with both DTRL and headlights. They blink with the turn signals when no lights are on and when I have the DTRL lights on but don't blink when the parking lights or headlights are on. Not sure why but no big deal.

A weird thing happened with mine the other day. I have 4 LED's on my grill, one doesn't work though. But the other day, it turned back on random. But as soon as it turned on, I lost the little light up control unit in my door that controls the windows and locks the doors. It still worked, but didn't light up like it usually does. My grill LED's are spliced with my fog lights' hot and ground wires. Are they somehow related to the door panel?
