Short story: hard core crawlers saw the need for a better comp tire. Took the imitative and input for the simple design. Then had them done.

hey guys, i just picked up a scx10 honcho and had a question, ive been driving it for about a day just mild rock crawling nothing major, i noticed all 4 of my shocks are seeping oil, nothing to major, and 1 or 2 are worse then the other two, any ideas if this is a issue or what?

 

It's commonplace with them. I flipped mine upside down and they do fine. Not as 'scale' though. They can be disassembled and rebuilt. If you do take them apart, count the drops of oil in each as you put them together. I use DOT4 brake fluid, but most hobby shops have specific oil for them.

 

Some of them leak. I'm using Associated's 40W in mine. Just compress the shock fully, fill it up, and good to go. Of course, you can add as you see fit or measure precisely but the compression method seems to work for me.

 

I do mine a bit differently and sometimes they leak but usually at a slower pace.
I use green slime in the caps and fill them up extended ten compress til it's at the top. Screw the top on and then release. Wastes some oil but gets them super soft with rebound due to the tighter seal

 

sounds good fellas! im sure having a blast with this little thing, its already pretty dinged up and has some trail carnage.

 

They all tend to leak. If you can get the air out and have no internal pressure they tend to leak a little less.

 

i feel like the more it leaks the more flex im achieving so im not complaining too bad..

 

After I rebuild I have barely anything in them. Softer the better

 

Anyone interested in a fully built wraith? I think I'm going to get out of the hobby. Selling my honcho too. Just don't use them enough and the tacoma takes all my time and money. I can give full specs if interested. I will also part out if it doesn't sell whole
