Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The beautiful thing about plastidip is it's reversible. If you don't like it, peel it off and start again :D. That said, I've seen some good results with black base + satin finish and black base + gloss finish for grille, emblems, and wheels. I didn't go with black for two reasons (1) too many folks rock them and (2) the dark grey base was 50% cheaper than the black base from dipyourcar.com.

I thought about removing the black vinyl on the B-pillar, but it'd look too much like a 2nd Gen. So I left it alone.

Had a few aftermarket steel locks laying around. Swapped OEM plastic twist locks for matching stainless steel key locks.

Your write up for how to remove the bumper caps is probably the best one I've seen. Made the job super quick. Thank you.

    Ft,

Great thread man. Powder coating the bumper ends was going to be one of my first mods, however I may just wrap them now...much cheaper. Also, love the lock on the bed storage doors, this was very high on my to do list as well. Now I just need the truck to arrive...lol.

You got a part number or dimensions on these bad boys? Where did you get them at? Thanks.

Sadly I do not. I had a bunch of these locks laying around at work in the scrap bin. These are your standard locks found in vending machines.

I highly recommend taking the ferry from Bellingham to Alaska. It will save time and you can camp out on the deck. I used to work in Bellingham and always meant to take that trip but never did. Good luck on the journey!

@sabercoug Thanks for your recommendation. Unfortunately, my truck was sold this morning. Will have to take this trip later :(.

    Bear spray is more effective

And Canada is pretty strict about the types of firearms you can tote through their country. Be sure to Read the rules if you go that route.

I've done Dempster up to Inuvik. Awesome Drive!! Saw 5 grizzlies along the road!
Make sure to bring at least 1 full size spare tire and maybe some Jerry cans (only one Gas station in the middle of a 700km stretch)

Nothing was wrong with the truck. Was supposed to be my forever truck, but priorities and needs changed. Enjoyed all 8262 miles on the road with the truck.

Roads in AK in July are free of snow unless there's a weird day up north in which they get super light snow. I'm making a trip in July from Eagle River, AK to Atigun Pass on the Dalton Highway

Drove NC to Salt Lake to pick up a buddy then to Seward, AK for the summer and then back across AK (and a slice of Canada) to Haines to catch the ferry Bellingham and had my tent duct taped down on the back with the others. The drive and the ferry should be on everyone's bucket list.
