I use a ceramic pour over and a hand grinder, nothing fancy, but gets the job done.

Anyone have any reccomdations on good coffee beans? I usually get the light roast, veranda at Starbucks.

Most mornings I get Thomas Hammer coffee, usually the original roast. It's plenty dark without being overly bitter like the Starbucks flagship stuff.

Yeah, their dark roast is bitter, i prefer the light roast coffees.

I roast my own. Use a chemex for my brewer. I can't really drink any coffee other than my own. Starbucks will do on a trip or in a pinch mainly because they make it strong.

I work in a frou frou part in L.A. and have hit up a ton of places. Urth Caffee makes a great cup of coffee. Alfred is good and my favorite is The Black Bicycle.

I use an old stove top percolator and a Stovetop Espresso Maker. I also have a Keurig at home and one at my console at work. I have close to 30 different Keurig coffees. I do not like flavored coffees. I drink different coffees everyday. One of my new coffees I drink a lot is westrockcoffee, the coffee is very smooth and you can taste the different beans used. Westrock is an East African coffee. I like the Keurig because I am the only one in house that drinks coffee except my wonderful daughter in law that loves coffee as much as do.

The Veranda is the one and only bean at Starbucks that I can actually stomach. I think it is the only one that doesn't taste charred. Do you get Kicking Horse coffee where you are? They have a light-medium roast called Kootenay Crossing. If you dig the Veranda as I do, I suspect you would enjoy it. It is light and smooth with some good body.

    Happy sipping

Vashon Island Coffee - Artist Blend, favorite over everything I have had so far.

Is this really worth the price? I see it in my local grocery store.

Will have to check into this.

Same here. 2kilo roaster for myself:)

Bunn trifecta is my go to brewer with a commercial rancilio lever for espresso. I won't get into the grinders.

Roasting your own beans and using a quality burr grinder is about the only way to get a great cup of coffee. I've been home roasting for close to 15 yrs and everyday drink some of the best coffee in the world. The best selection of green (unroasted) beans can be found at sweetmarias as well as roasting and brewing equipment. Having a cup of the best freshest coffee at half the price of say Starbucks is a no brainer.

I mainly favor a nice medium roast. These are three of my favorites.
