My 2009 Camry got whacked in the left rear quarter yesterday. Thankfully, no one was hurt. There's damage on both rear quarters, but it looks like the rear door and trunk lid are intact.I can't see if there's any frame or suspension damage, but the left rear tire has a scuff on it, so it was part of the contact.

I'm guessing at least several thousand dollars in repairs. Worst case, it might be enough to total the car. I was wondering what the forum thinks.20160423_151550.jpg 2016-04-24 12.36.15.jpg 2016-04-24 12.36.26.jpg 2016-04-24 12.36.35.jpg

    1. It's totaled. Crumple zone damage is not worth repairing. If they offer to do it, decline. Take the total.

    2. So what? Camry is the ultimate appliance car. Get another one.

It's my wife's car and she never really liked it. To me, it's a generic "car", so it won't hurt anyone's feelings to get rid of it. The only down side is it only has 60k miles, so we were figuring many more years out of it.

Check out the Ford Fusions. Rides like a much bigger car. A tad less boring than the Camry. Bought a 2014 for the wife about 8 months ago.

... being a Ford it should ride great for another year or so. We have one at work and it doesn't handle abuse even close to the imports. Sonata and Accord are pretty nice alternatives to Camry.
