You say subwoofer amp, is it a mono amp??? One RCA interconnect may be fine with a mono...

Not sure about ur exact question without seeing the wiring..

Thanks for the quick reply, where do I say subwoofer amp?

But yes it is a monoblock amp this one here: http://www.amazon.com/BOSS-R1100M-1...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00

You said it was an amp that is only connected to a 10" sub...so by deduction, an amp driving a sub is a subwoofer amp.

When you plug in the 2nd RCA cable (and it starts to sound bad), does it still sound bad if you leave the 2nd cable connected but you then unplug the 1st RCA cable (the one that sounded good when it was the only cable plugged in)? Without knowing what wires you're tapping and what all your components are (like what LOC are you using), it's hard to help you out.

Honestly, if it sounds fine with just the one side plugged in, I'd just stick with that since it's only driving a mono sub amp.

yea i see what you are saying. my bad.... yea i mean i have tried changing the connections a few different ways and it works great and sounds great with just one of the RCA plugs hooked up so I am just going to leave it as is. It really makes the system in this truck sound so much different and better with the amplifier and LOC hooked up to the headunit and the sub hooked up and running. Can't wait to add in my bigger amp and the replacement speakers when they arrive. Should do it some nice justice on the high end. i more or less just wanted to make sure I wasnt going to screw something up or short something some how leaving something unplugged like that.

I want to upgrade the stereo in my truck as well, speakers first, then down the line, sub(s) in a custom box. Been reading up on yours and @bginvestor builds since I too have a 2016, it also has the JBL upgrade but the speakers really arent what I thought they were gonna be :(
Hope I can get some advice/help from both you guys

We are here to help. Give @Mrmarv a call. He will help you out with a box. Super nice guy, true craftsman and his prices for the quality of his boxes are fantastic. Here is how my subs turned out.

Yes lol. I'm not a car stereo guru at all, but I have replaced HU's and speakers in previous vehicles, never anything with amps/subs.
I definitely want to keep the stock Entune HU (for now) and want to upgrade the speakers and get 2 subs if I can fit. 2 10" or 2 8" ?

I fit 2 10s in mine. A 4 channel amp for new mids and tweets in the front and 2 ways in the back. Kept my factory head unit

Looking for some advice on an amp install. I'm a rookie with amp installs, comfortable with head units. What I'm not sure about is the LOC and if what I have on the way will be ok. I'm going to be installing an Alpine PDXF4 and have a Rockford RF-HLC4 for a LOC. Says it can output up to 3v. Will I be starving the signal to the amp? I plan on running 4 channels.

    Thanks

    Steve

Is that signal processor mounted on the back side of mr marvs amp rack? If so no issues overheating?
