Can anyone help explain these modes on the Automatic TRD OR for me?

If I'm understanding correctly, the A/T OR doesn't have Auto LSD. Is that correct?

So I understand what VSC mode does - basically controls the braking and engine output to prevent sliding/skidding while accelerating on slick surfaces. I think. VSC mode appears to be default in 2WD. Is it also default in 4HI? What about 4LO?

In what conditions would I want to turn off VSC? It seems like you'd only turn it off if you're stuck. But I guess if I was stuck I'd just put it in 4HI/4LO and not even worry about trying to get unstuck in 2WD.

Also, what is TRAC mode. Is that still present on 2016 TRD OR Automatic transmission? Sounds like this, if present, is also a default mode. I have the same questions on TRAC. Is it default in 4HI/4LO? What reasons would I want to turn TRAC off (and how is TRAC turned off)?

Anyway, any insight you can provide to me on these different driving modes would be much appreciated. Picking up my truck in one month and I just want to make sure I'm well versed in the different modes before I pick 'er up.

Thanks, I saw that thread. Is this the same on the gen 3's?

Now that I review the table it makes sense, but it is not very intuitive at all. Seems a bit overly complicated for sure.

I've never had a 4WD vehicle, so my only concern is drivetrain binding. For example, is 1" of snow slick enough to allow me to put it in 4WD without worrying about drivetrain binding on turns? What about a really rocky trail. Seems like if the trail is rocky enough, it'd almost be like driving on pavement and there could be the potential for drivetrain binding while making sharp turns in 4WD. I'm sure I'll get used to it!

yea, same concept. It is a bit overwhelming at first the sheer capability of the truck and options for this that and the other thing.
