We had an 05 CRD Sport, and it had all kinds of issues with the torque converter locking up at weird times or not at all. After the third time of it locking up at a dead stop in Houston traffic, my wife had enough. She made me trade it in on her 06' RAV4, and I got her Accord. That lasted 3 months, then I got my first Tacoma.

The Tacoma is definitely more comfortable to travel in, and it has negligible issues in comparison.

...I still miss that engine though. :pout:

I tried to get Todd to put one in my Tacoma, but I couldn't get the money together in time. So, I guess I will just have to be happy with the 4.0L. I must have a diesel engine again. So, this week I am driving up to Denver to buy my old Jetta TDI back from my bestfriend!

I felt the same way! After I bought my '07 Tacoma, I was trying to figure out how to import an entire drivetrain from a diesel Hilux. It wouldnt be a hard swap, just time consuming. As the price of diesel started its climb, I shelved the idea. I still think about doing it, just have to get caught up on my other projects. :)

Yeah, Dodge is definately known for blowing trannies. I didn't own my Dodge long enough to see that happen (Thank Gawd). But the 3 years that I owned it (still under warrantee), they had to rip open my dash to finally find a loose wire in a connetion that kept tripping the *service 4WD* light (and 4wd wouldn't engage). The steering lines leaked (TSB for that). The tranny hunted for gears while towing - and even after the TSB was performed, it still hunted for gears.

It was a nice truck - and was CHEAP ($37,000 sticker and we paid $27,000). Only 3 years later and I got $19,000 for it in trade which was AWESOME (tried selling it privately and couldn't get chit for it).

I will be buying biodiesel from Austin, TX for a price below standard diesel. Plus, my Jetta gets 40.5 MPG in town, and 48 MPG on the highway. Diesel would have to be double the cost of gasoline for it not to be economical for me to drive my Jetta around over my Tacoma.

Damn. I can't wait till Wednesday!!!
