I switched from upscale fine dining restaurants to corporate dining in 2007. I gave up a lot of prestige and probably make less money in the long run. Before I worked weekends, holidays and a 70 hour work week was short week. I frequently worked 100 hours a week....and I mean actual work...not just being at work. There were times when I had no days off for a month. The only way to not come to work is either you're dead, in the hospital or in jail.

Now I'm free...I have weekends off. I can call out sick (although I almost never do). A few years ago I broke my cheekbone, upper jaw and orbital bone in 9 places along with my left 5th metacarpal in 4 places. I was out for 6 weeks. When I came back I had still had a job and picked up where I left off. Did I mention the weekends? Two days off in a row, let alone Saturday and Sunday on regular basis are MAGICAL! Now I work 8-12 hours a day, usually just 8. I have an actual life outside of work. It's truly amazing. I can go on Tacomaworld while I'm at work.

Sometimes I miss the action and controlled chaos and my coworkers comprised of miscreants and felons. But in the end I'm grateful to have a life outside work.

I mean in the end, let's keep it real. We all have trucks and mod it. It's an expensive hobby. Even if we didn't mod it, owning a Toyota truck and all the expenses that come along with it is expensive in itself. If I was ever in a position where I really couldn't afford anything, I'd have to ask myself why I still had my truck. Just my $0.02

Actually the better forum is Fitfreak.net lol. But I only know that bc my wife has a Fit. Those little cars are the shit though. Transported a whole lot of shit to/from for myself and others.
