I had a Z-Series shell ordered, but because the dealer dropped the ball I cancelled the order. I called after not hearing from them in three weeks, and the dealer told me he needed my fuel door because ARE had requested it to match the paint, even though they were given the OEM paint code. The delaer said ARE contacted him the day AFTER I ordered the shell, but for reasons he can't explain, never called me to tell me he needed the fuel door, so three weeks wasted. Then he said he'd call ARE to expedite it, but never got back to me so I cancelled the order and got my deposit back.

Needless to say I'm still in the market for a camper shell, just going to go to a different dealer this time. My question is do I go with "top of the line" as far as fit and finish as in the Z-Series, or "lower end", so I can go with the windoors? The ARE Z-Series has a super nice all glass rear window, no flimsy frame or shocks like the lwoer end models, nic er, bigger side windows, higher quality glass, etc. Only drawback is no windoors?

I'd for sure use the windoors, have a dog, go caping a ton, hiking, mountain biking, surfing, road trips etc. I'm pretty set on ARE. Don't like that SnugTop is only regional, so if I ever move back east I'm SOL as far as customer service, and think they're shells are overpriced, so not looking to switch brands.

Should I be concerned going from initially wanting a Z-Series to going with an X or V-Series so I can hve the windoors? The lower end models seems to be the ones that people have complained about regarding window gaskets rotting, leaking, etc.? What's the general concensus?
