    $11K might not be as bad as it seems at first. Even if he eventually spent $9K to rebuild the engine, transmission and other upgrades he'd spend about 1/2 what it would cost to buy new. And I'd not be at all surprised if he doesn't get another 100,000 miles on it before needing to do that.

    Im not afraid of the truck and the miles. Its a really nice truck and has been taken very good care of. My only concern is if when i go to resale it if i ever do having to deal with these people that say its worth 5k..

    I'd save my money. Why take the chance on something that may very well fall apart in a few months? Wait and find a better deal.

    Well i have all the service records and the carfax is clean except for the damage to bedside which i already knew about. I think im gonna buy it. Im gonna carry it to a mechanic and let him check it over first before i do.
