O5 will take 4H but not go into 4L

05 2.7L 5sp why will it lock into 4H but only beeps and light flashes when I turn to 4L

 

I had this problem in my 09 5sp 2.7 this winter. I had never used the 4lo before so wanted to try it. Got scared at first when it wouldn't engage but I found I was not depressing clutch pedal fully. You really have to press it all the way to the floor (at least I did). Hopefully that's all it is for you as well.

 

Yup OP.

Push that clutch ALLL THE WAY TO THE GOD DAMN FLOOR! haha. Also you have to be under 3 mph to shift to 4lo.

 

Ok tried cramping the clutch really hard, 4L when right in, going to exercise it regularly, don't want to loose being able to use it. thanks for advise
