the Toytec Lifts BOSS kit will work on the 2wd just don't order the diff drop

 

No real setting per se, just crank until you achieve desired height. I have 2" over stock, which is 23" center of hub to bottom lip of fender flare. That is considered max. The more you crank the more preload you put on the spring and thus a harsher ride. I had to crank the passenger side a little more to correct for the Taco 'lean'. The process took some time. Jack up vehicle, crank with spanner wrench, take for a ride and then measure again and repeat process until satisfied. The springs do settle, so be patient, it's worth it in the end.

 

Awesome! So for the alignment, how long do you wait till it settles down?

 

hard to say, I just put these on last week and did a alignment myself with SPC Fastrack camber/caster tool. That will suffice until I am satisfied the lift is fully settled and then a professional alignment can be done. Running Wheelers 8 leaf progressive leaf pack in the rear and that put me up 2 1/2", so I have a slight rack which I am fine with for now. Those springs may settle also but the ride is pretty good.

 

Well, I know mine settled 1" after initial install but I would imagine it is different for every truck/suspension system. That's only been my experience with my lift so far. I would not expect much more settling after this last adjustment.

 

I think that would definately help speed things up, I just had street driving and would check height each day after going to work and back.

 

Placed my order with Wheelers last night... anxiously awaiting the parts to get here.

 

I like your choice of shocks, king extended droop. I wish I had ordered these since I have the longer UCA's I could have utilized the extra length of that shock. I am considering buying those and selling my toytec 2.5's. the only thing I don't like is add a leaf's. After going to full progressive pack on my new truck and having the add a leaf on my 2008, I like the full pack much better. ride is better, then again I do not haul anything heavy.

 

I had considered doing new leafs but the folks @ Wheelers think with mine being brand new that the add a multi leaf will work just fine. In addition sometimes I tow my UTV around so didn't want the back end to be too soft.

 

If after install of the Boss 2.0 struts and an alignment, I measure and the shop did not raise the front 1" I was looking for to level, after lifting 1" is another alignment necessary?

 

The short answer is "YES".
Thats if your gonna add another lift to your existing even if you have already done an alignment for the previous...hope that makes sense.

Ok, so over the last month I've read every single page here and there. Just to be clear, can you guys verify and/or correct my conclusions below....

For a 2016 TRD Sport 4x4:

265x70R17 - Fit stock height
275x70R17 - Can fit stock height, but fit with no rubbing with leveled Bilstein 5100's
285x70R17 - Need atleast 3" lift

 

I don't think it need 3" for 285/70R17 but not sure yet because my wheels and suspwnsion are still en route. Might need it on the sport if you don't take the air dam off? Mine is a OR

 

I should have added with air dam taken off, no mud flaps and of course wheel offset/backspacing will matter. But lets assume stock BS.

 

Question please...How are the rear springs supposed to look with the proper arch. I was under my '16 last night and my eyes were drawn to how straight the rear springs already are. 411 miles!!

I am looking at lift kits on Low Range and more specifically at the OME kits. They have two options a stock/light load and then a heavy load. Is this referring to the payload capacity? I don't really haul much maybe 500-800 lbs but I don't want to jump into a kit that will make my truck suffer in this arena. Does anyone know a more definitive expectation?

It refers to the front of the vehicle. So the stock load springs and what you want if you are adding no weight to the front, aka: an aftermarket bumper/winch/heavy crap hanging off your front end.
