    Hey gang,

I am seeking some guidance on how to go about replacing my driver seat. Passenger seat too but my first priority is the driver side. I do not want to go through the dealership for it costs way too much and it also comes in many pieces including separate purchase for even the cushion and upholstery! Im on the Front Range of CO and I am more than happy to look into junk yards and whatever else but I wanted to see if anyone had any local experience in getting their seats replaced.

    Thanks!

What's the issue with the current seats?

Sorry I didn't add that. MY driver seat is really beat down. The truck has a smoker history from the previous owner and subsequently the seats have some burns on them. In addition, they are a little saggy and are stained a bit and have softened up. I like the stiff feeling of new seats and Im way too OCD to live with burns and stains. Thanks!

Personally I'd recommend going to an auto upholsterer and have them rebuild your seats and recover them to your liking.

Then you can get far better seats than Toyota ever made and for probably less than you think.

At the very least I'd get an estimate on that kind of work and weigh that versus the cost of replacement seats.

Interesting thought. I also thought about just investing in really nice wet okale seat covers but I can't get away from how much I actually enjoy the OEM look of the TRD seats. I will look into a pro upholsterer as well, however. Thanks for the advice !

No problem. Lots of people seem to want replacement seats, not sure why - upholstering isn't incredibly expensive and it yields endless customization. You can change the entire shape of the seat, and change the types of foam and where they go.

Lower profile, higher profile, firmer, softer - it'll alleviate any issues you have had with the seat, even that back or knee pain after long drives.

If you like the OEM look, you can usually find OEM seat skins on here for TRD seats for under $200, and have the upholsterer remake your foam. Still get a custom seat with a factory look.
