    Hey fellow Tacoma world members!

Thanks for the add to the group. I have been a big Toyota fan for quite a while, and have owned several.

I wanted to get some better opinions on two trucks I am looking at purchasing. I am having trouble deciding between the two.

First is a 2008 double cab 4x4 white truck that is supercharged. It has a 6" pro comp lift. Shockworks front bumper and skid plates. Looks overall like a super clean truck new tires etc. He is asking 19500 for the truck.

The second one is a 2008 double cab 4x4, gun metal gray, with walker evans mid travel suspension, and paint matched fiber works fenders. The back is an add aleaf with rancho shocks. it has 155,000 on it. It also has new tires. He is asking 17000 for the truck.

I obviously love the idea of having a supercharged truck, and white is my favorite of the two. BUT I have wanted a mid travel truck for quite sometime, and it looks like I am gonna free up enough funds to make that happen.

I guess what I am asking, is if the mid travel that is on the gray truck is a good kit? Or if I would be better off to try and talk the guy with the white one down, remove the lift and put a mid travel kit on the supercharged truck.

Any input would be appreciated, and I am sorry for dragging out my first post!

    Thank you.

138,000 and it appears to be a long bed, if that would effect the mid travel idea.

6" lift is a DB lift. Do you weld? Your front cross member is gone.

If you want midtravel you mant more than an AAL and rancho shocks in the rear.

How much more will I need in the rear? If its gonna be a fair size investment, then I guess Id be better off starting with the white truck and either welding in a new cross member or if the cross member is removed for long travel maybe look at going that route?

You are leading me to believe that this "mid travel truck" For 17000 is actually just a walker evans front kit and some junk pieced together on the rear, meaning it really isn't worth much more than stock?

That's a question only you can answer.

Do you weld? Know a welder? There's a build thread here that went from DB and back. Can't remember who.

So now you want to go LT? You need a crossmember.

pics? links to for sale threads?
I suggest reading up on this forum and getting a better idea on what you want to do before jumping into it.

Do either trucks have new frames or are they rusted?

I want a mid travel truck that is either supercharged now or later. I just do not know the extent of work needed to complete a truck with walker evans mid travel in the front and AAL and ranchos in the back. I guess I want it to be as functional as possible. The end result will be a truck that gets pounded everyday on gravel and dirt, and occasionally goes to the dunes. The for sale threads are more vague than this post. Most of the stuff I listed wasn't even on the post they answered it after.

Thanks again for all of your help. I wish that they had a little more indepth build list in the adds as well! Would alleviate a lot of my questions.

After some of the thoughts in this thread and several questions. Turns out "mid travel" is not the same thing to him as it was to me. He has Evan walker adjustable coil overs and stock UCA's. looking like a lot less added value then I originally hoped for.
