Man, I don't mean to come off sounding like an ass cause I know hindsight is 20/20 but a quick inspection at least of the interior should of helped with the cigarette stuff. I'm no mechanical guru by any means but just based on what I am imagining, how do you not notice complete lack of brake pads on the front? Wouldn't that thing not brake for shit?

All that aside glad everything mostly worked out.

So, you bought a 7-year-old vehicle and it had the nerve to act like a used vehicle? You didn't check any of these things before buying and you expect the dealership to give you money? If I'm not getting it, please correct me, as I admit to skimming the read, but you sound unreasonable.

Bummer man. Funny part about dealerships is by all accounts, seems like 50% are shady as hell and love cutting corners every chance they get, and the other 50% are heavenly and even have a towel butler in the bathroom who offers free spurts of cologne and samples of 100 year old aged whiskey.

C'mon guys, don't skim and then comment on this. Are you really that lazy? OP, I'm with you on this one. Their behavior is unacceptable. Selling you a truck in unsafe condition is one thing. They could have apologized and fixed it all. To not do that and call you a liar is insane! I think the point OP is trying to make is that the dealership was a dick and unprofessional.

    Tl;dr

I read all your first post OP. What year is the new (used) truck you bought? An 2009?
The part that would make me not trust the dealership is it not moving first thing and the way the salesman acted.
Man, that really sucks especially in light of the theft!!

You traveled 1500 miles to buy a 10 year old truck sight unseen! That was your biggest mistake. You paid $2000-$2500 below fair market value for it and had to spend $2000 to get it in shape. (That is as near as I can tell from your post). You're getting a $1,000 refund.

Unless it was advertised as a "Certified Pre Owned" vehicle all of them are sold "as is". They come with the Oklahoma guarantee around here. You drive it off the lot and if it breaks in half, you own both halves. Dealers are required to put a sticker in the window here in GA informing buyers if, and what type of warranty is on the vehicle. On some 3-5 year old vehicles they may offer a 30 day warranty or the manufacturers warranty may still apply. But anything that old will clearly state "AS IS" on the sticker.

I really don't think the dealer screwed you. I think you made an ill informed choice and the dealership is just not being as sympathetic as you'd like. After all repairs are finished you'll have a good truck at a fair price. Considering the $1000 in refunds you are getting a very good deal.

    I'm confused.

You claim you've owned 8 Toyotas, yet you missed many obvious things.

I really have a hard time believing a truck with so few mikes had this many issues.

Was it sold as Toyota Certified? If yes, you have plenty to bitch about.

Sorry to hear about your experience, OP, but next time, test drive the vehicle you plan on buying.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
This kinda stuff never happens to people who thoroughly inspect a vehicle before buying it.

Just wanted to point that out. I hope it all gets resolved and you enjoy the truck.

This in spades. It was a 10 year old truck.

If you purchase as many used vehicles as you claim it seems you would know better. This could be a good lesson for you.
