Hello, I just bought my first Tacoma (2016 Manual SR) and this is my first post on TacomaWorld. So my problem is that the stock Taco doesnt come with a hitch reciever and I have a 14 foot jon boat that I want to put in the bed (don't wanna tow) and I saw you can add bed extenders to the trailer hitch (I will post pictures) to add a few feet and support the back end of the boat more. I stuck the jon boat in the back of my old honda pilot so i know it can be done, but I am wondering what's the best brand of hitch reciever I should add/install, since my model did not come with it. I do understand that most trailers can only take 300 pounds tongue weight and that wont be a problem since the jon boat is very light aluminum. My Taco is an access cab 6 foot bed if that helps. I'm not trying to spend too much on the mount and I saw plenty of universal mounts that may or may not work at my local auto parts stores. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Hopefully someone here chimes in with experience. I'm looking at buying a 12 ft Hobie Pro Angler kayak and have thought about trying something like this (with a 5 ft bed truck) - so I'm interested in seeing what others say.

The only problem with that would be getting the boat up there...probably next to impossible by yourself. Also, is that removable?

Prop boat up on back, attach rope to front of boat, run to front of truck, pull.
