    Hey All,

I'm looking at the following tires in 275/65/18 for my 2016.

Any feedback on which tire is best? My main concerns are going to be minimal road noise and a comfortable ride on the highway since my taco is my DD.

    1. General Grabber AT2
    2. Kumho Road Venture AT51
    3. Hankook Dynapro ATM
    4. Firestone Destination A/T

I had the hank dynapro atms. They looked great but they caused a vibration and the tire shop could not get the one causing a vibration balanced enough to fix the issue. I have heard of the same issue a few times. Also traction was not as good as the fallen wild peak ats I had prior. Other than my poor experience a lot of people have positive experiences with the hankooks.

I love love love my Cooper AT/3s. Quite with great wet road traction and a fairly aggressive AT tread.

Not crazy about the tread on those. Nice tire, though!

I'm leaning towards the Road Ventures right now. Love that side wall!

Firestone destination A/T far and away. Best buy for the money and meets your needs. If you are after looks instead, then road noise and comfort aren't that important.

Don't! The ms2 is way better than the at2 in almost every scenario.

Some feedback on the Cooper AT3s. I bragged on them back last summer when I was able to pull my buried 72" Diesel Hustler AND my JD utility tractor I buried trying to pull out the Hustler both at the same time with just the rear diff lock engaged. Since I was by myself and they are both hydrostatic drive, I was really dragging them out. I was however in sandy loam mud then, NOT clay.

This evening I was unloading a bunch of plants for a landscape job and the slight hill going around and down to the backyard was clay that got about an 1" of rain on it yesterday. After not having ANY rain for a long time around here, I did walk it first, it was not muddy at all to walk on, and I barely made tracks at all going down but after unloading everything I could NOT climb the hill at all to get out. I had to throw 500 lbs. of river rock in the back, spin the truck around, and climb the hill backwards. And, now I have ruts I get to patch when it dries out.

Now, I know these are not MTRs but these tires will NOT clean clay type mud out of the tread AT ALL! And, once I did get back up the hill, since the driveway was all that 1/2-3/4 gray chat, I had clay slicks now coated with driveway chat. I had to drive out on the gravel road and drive about a mile up and back to clean the tires out and I still didn't get it all.

I had a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers before that self cleaned MUCH better in clay mud than these AT3s did. Just sayin . . . for informational purposes only.

Other than that, I have been pretty satisfied with them.

I have a set of these on my '10 Xterra and just got a set for my '95 4Runner. Great price, balanced without a lot of fuss, and were amazing in snow this past winter- they have the "snowflake" rating. Slight hum at highway speeds, but considering how aggressive the tread is, it's not an issue.

The Cooper Discoverer AT/3 is available in both a load B (p metric) and a load C for that size. That's going to help keep the weight down in addition to being a relatively quiet tire with good road manners.

    I just picked up a set in a 275 load C myself.

Just ordered the at51's. Can't beat the price, ratings, and look of these tires!

i replaced the stock tires 265 60 18 at 60,000 miles with at3's, 265 70 18s, a lil more weight, almost 32", fig it would soften the sports ride a bit, and it did. love the tires , snow sand, sum mud. only neg is they seem to hydro when hitting standing water. had them on my 03 4 runner and literaly pushed snow that was up to the front bumper to get home one night. the are a very good alterain.
