MOD: A-Pillar RAM mount GPS/Phone holder

Once my wife saw it there was no way I was going to be able to get away without putting together one for her too.

 

Same here man. Wife said she wanted one before our Annual trip to Taos later this year.

 

Damn It....I can see my wallet taking hit, I have to get this. Nice mod!

Someone post how they routed their charger cable. I read back someone used a 6' charging cable.

 

I did use a 6' cable. Snaked it up the A-pillar and the used a deemed dremel to massage the opening a bit so I could fit it through. Works perfect.

Ram mounts are good, I use one on my handlebars for my supermoto

 

I don't really see a need for this. I just plug my charger in and drape the cable across the steering column. It's completely out of the way.

 

I did it this way for a long time but I found that it only took a few minutes to hide the cable behind the dash and up the A pillar. Now I don't have as much clutter in the cab.

Would love to do this myself but, for those rare times when I'm stopped and could type a quick text or response, it would be a bit difficult, considering I'm right handed.

 

My phone has a voice activation feature that allows me to send as well as reply to text messages. I assumed all of them did that these days.

So, I'm not catching on. How does the ball go on that long bolt?

 

The ball is hollow and allows the bolt to pass through.

 

Anyone have pics of this on a first gen?! Seems like the concept would be the same.

 

I'd like to see that too, I'm really interested in doing this.
