I just got a 2016 tacoma SR5 double cab. I love it, expect for the radio. The speakers suck.
What kind of speakers do any of you all suggest?

Nothing fancy, yet. Weathertech mats front/back + their mud guards, some reflective striping and custom carpets on the storage bin lids underneath the jump seats.
    Welcome fellow new owner!:)
Crutchfield Audio is carrying Nakamichi NSE65 door speakers that get 5 star reviews for just $59.99 a pair. This may be my first truck upgrade.
I've been buying stuff from them for years with fantastic results/support. They provide very detailed, vehicle-specific installation instructions with "lifetime" technical support + free installation parts like adapters and wiring harness adapters, too. If I sound like a salesman for them, I sort of am. LOL They feature customer installations in their catalogs and ran one of my old 97' Nissan 15 years ago or so. LOL

I ended up getting two pair of the Nakamichi NSE65 speakers from Crutchfield Audio. After I figured out how I was going to use the hardware that came with them along with the free mounting adapters, the installation was pretty easy. They didn't have a master sheet of instructions for the 2016 Tacoma yet. So, I called and their rep. emailed me a short set of instructions and that's all I needed.
How do they sound? Pretty dang good and the $120 total price just makes 'em that much nicer! No regrets!

Left: OEM speaker from my 16' SR5 access cab. That thing the size of a stack of quarters is the magnet! Geez!
Right: Nakamichi NSE65. The Crutchfield adapters make up the shape difference and fit flawlessly.
I did opt to secure the wiring to the back of the speaker with plastic wire ties to stop potential rattling.
The included Toyota-specific wiring harness adapters meant zero cutting/splicing.
    These are 100% plug-n-play.
