Hey, and thanks for the heads up on the shared concerns with the 2016 Tacoma.
I just returned from dealer. Fortunate for me they employed a very capable Service Tech. I was able to watch and talk with him while he addressed my concerns.

He checked the transmission fluid and found it to be 1 quart low. Added the required amount.
He checked the u-joints and found they were not greased. Greased Them.
He checked the u-bolts for proper torque and found them to be slightly out of spec. Torqued.
He called in for replacement door seals for both front doors (I was experiencing the loud crosswind noise) According to him they have upgraded the seals to prevent this problem.
He called in for plugs for the control arms as Toyota apparently recognizes the problem exists and have plugs now for that purpose.
He took pictures of the hood separation at the glue points and Toyota is going to set me up with my body shop of choice for either repair or replacing the hood.

I know it is hard to believe with that many issues right off with the truck that I am still happy with the purchase, but I am.
The truck is practical, economical for 4x4, I think will be reliable once the problems are tweaked, and the truck has many uses beyond the 2 door jeep wrangler I traded in for it.

I still have the concern of the shift points using the cruise control. I am guessing a program fix will take care of that.

Thanks again for the heads up.
Shout out for my Tech for being so thorough. Not my selling dealer.
Thumbs down for my selling dealer for not doing a proper PDI. You lost my business for good.

Sounds like you got very lucky to find the dealer/tech that you did!! Enjoy the new purchase, and I think you made a wise choice!! My new '16 will be in in a few weeks. It'll be my sixth Tacoma. I know a good product..... :)

Thx for your reply ATCRich. By the way for stat purposes my truck is 2016 Tacoma SR5 Barcelona Red DCSB V6 auto with Tow Package and cover. Red was not my first choice, but the wife liked it, so we have red. I will get used to it. I prefer a more low key color.

Always little cautious when giving out names, because my experience may not be everyone's experience, so with that in mind I would have to be neutral. He did great by me that is all I can say.
The dealer was Nott Honda Toyota of Lima Ohio. The Tech's name will remain anon unless he gives me permission to disclose it. I have to respect his privacy. The dealer is different as they are public and in the business of sharing their information to attract business. I had to drive an hour and a half to have them work on my car and it was worth the drive.
