The first gen ones are a little cheaper.

That's a good deal. Cap-it was almost $2k. And driving to Cali was around $800 for the bumper. So shipping off eBay is the way to go, I guess

I think there is a bunch of people that live in the okanagan that love working on Toyota's lol... for example... my new fan shroud to help with summer heat (had some free time)

Tyler, do you have any experience in swamp coolers? I've been trying to figure out a way to keep my canopy cool this summer for my dog, as we will have baby #2, and there is no longer room for the pooch in the cab.

 

I'm trying to be in that club that I never knew existed before this taco ......cannot count how many times the dash has been apart in 6 months, and my engine bay full of tools, or truck out of commission due to wheels off

 

ARB bumper... the ARB distribution center is in Seattle. So what I did was purchase it through Wheelers in Utah, and then pick it up in Seattle; i think I got a discount as well since Wheelers did nothing but accept the cheque lol. Bring across the border and pay GST. The exchange rate was better back in the day.... Let me know if you need install help

Went for drive to see if Bear Main was passable to the Connector.... turns out its still pretty deep up there!

We just finished a trip behind Peachland summerland this weekend. Next to no snow and trails are endless. just take a saw or 2 for clearing as there's alot of windfall

Hello Okanagan Tacoma Owners!

Im in Oliver and looking to purchase a Tacoma this fall, figured this might be a good place to start. Hope I'm not intruding on the thread.

Im searching for a reliable truck to take me all the places I love to hunt, fish, and camp. Im in a "buy it for life" phase and after all of my research theres no doubt the Tacoma is built to last and the truck for me.

Im looking at something in the early 2000's, (1st Gen) low KMS, 150000 or less but would settle for something closer to 200000 if it made sense. 4x4 is a must and could go either way on automatic/manual transmission. Not really into the offroading, but having driven a manual for many years I wouldn't mind the ease of an auto. Preferably looking for something in BC or AB to avoid shipping costs and out of province inspections. My budget is $10,000 CDN, could go up a few thousand for the right truck.

Anybody have any leads? If you could keep your eyes peeled for me it would be much appreciated.

@campbellcooks Hey man, welcome to TW. I picked up my '04 Xtra cab 4x4 for $14k. Be prepared to pay a premium price for a well kept 1st gen. They are fairly rare in the online classifieds, but keep your eyes open, and the do pop up once in a while. This one is pricey but in awesome shape
