Toytec 3 degree rear axle shims

Just installed Toytec 3 degree rear axle shims to get rid of a drive line vibration caused by the lift from TSB springs on a standard cab. I am happy to report that they worked great and solved the problem for me.

The TSB springs caused an approximately 2 inch lift on the standard cab. Right from the dealers lot when I picked it up I noticed a new vibration in the engine and driveline. After playing with it for a while and doing some research I concluded that there was just too much angle between the driveshaft and rear differential after the springs went in. Today I installed the Toytec angled shims and the vibration is cured. The shims resulted in quite a change in the driveline angle, I don't think the pictures show it too well. Unfortunately I got another 3/8 inch of lift out of this that I didn't want but so it goes I really wanted that vibration gone.

Install was straight forward even though Toytec did not included directions. Just used the directions for a rear block install except you also have to replace the pin in the spring stack which is similar to and add a leaf install.

I just installed mine 30 mins ago... I shoulda went with 3.5 or 4--- eliminated 75% of the vibrations from 0-45...

 

How do u know what degree shim to get? Got a 1 inch block in the rear on mine

 

I've got driveline vibes b/n 30 - 45 mph since installying AP Expo leafs on a 1st gen. Never installed shims, or aal so looking for examples and/or steps needed to perform the job. Thanks.
