Hello went to the dealer this morning to get one of my free old changes done and I asked the service writer if they could check my transmission fluid I have a 2015 model automatic he said I would have to bring it back to let one of the technicians check it and that it would take about an hour and a half to two hours to do the procedure and he said that they would have to charge me also . I am not having trouble with the transmission but was just curious about the fluid level . So I thought I would post this question to see what you guys thoughts would be about getting a check or should I just leave it alone and drive it thank you all for your help .

No problems with my transmission, but it needs to be checked. I'll check it myself. Too damn cheap to pay somebody to do if for me. Just out of curiosity, what would your dealership have charged you to check it?

You'll need some suitable ATF, the doc written by Fortech + one of these.paper-clip.jpg

It would run around $127.00 the same price as a trans. Service.

    Paper Clip

Jumper ports 4 & 13 on the OBD-II diagnostic connector, otherwise known as DLC3 in the Factory Service Manual. Required as part of the process of getting the vehicle into Temp Check Mode.
Some use a wire - paper clip is better in my opinion as it's easier to get connected to the OBD-II diagnostic connector.

Do a SEARCH for thread by Fortech on draining/filling transmission fluid. You can also use it's contents to perform a fluid level check.

Don't forget to pore any extra trans fluid back into your crank case, Lester.

addicus24 - if you haven't seen it already - read the thread I pointed to in post #11. I laughed for days. You only need to read the first couple of pages.
