One of my Sena speakers blew, called them and they are sending a replacement fortunately.

Still annoying since it was kind of a pain in the ass to install the last one with how you have to route the wires under the pads. Oh well.

New brake pads front and rear, new brake fluid, and topped off oil at 12,400 miles.

EBC Double-H Sintered pads for my reference.

@CanisLupus I don't know how the motorcyclist insurance works in your state but prepare to be shocked! So i have been riding 2 wheels since i was 5 yrs old and now im 40 so do the math. It started with a lawnmowers engine in a tube frame A.K.A the mini-bike. I used to race semi-pro motor-cross blahh blahh blah long story short....In Utah motorcycles are considered an accessory vehicle and therefore DO NOT qualify for lost wages if your injured in an accident. The minimum state mandatory under insured amount in Utah is $25,000.00 That said my point is this. I have crashed a bunch and hurt my self. I have almost killed myself too many times. I still ride. Many Many Many times some asshat almost killed me. I have had people try and try to run me down "road rage". Just before a marathon here in the early morning a barricade fell off the truck setting them up......I hit it dragged it. It turned the handlebars and jammed them and i wheelied into a wall after jumping a 3 foot wall after it popped the front wheel up in a spectacular barricade dragging rodeo crash\smash! I had to sue the barricade company and 2 police officers for not helping me at the scene. That ankle is still F'ed up I still ride. 2 years ago i was riding home and this moron in a mini van was turning left at a light in the turn lane 3 cars from the intersection with his left blinker on. I was about to ride past him at 48 mph yes i was speeding 8mph over. Well this idiot sees a parking lot to his right and just turn his wheel and guns it for the parking lot and i had no where to go and i t-bone that mini van screaming. No-one heard me but me! I stuck my left leg out as i was trying turn with him into parking lot while im semi locked on the brakes screaming i fly over the handle bars and smash through passengers window and smash into his wife face and land into the back fucking seat in full gear and i thought i screamed what fuck are you doing but i was gut punched and a weak ass what are you doing comes out. Does this guy stop oh no he pulls into the parking and i fall out of the window onto the ground after self extricate myself still moving. I get up So Irate and this MF jumps out grabs me and says i better have insurance!!!!!!...............................WTF!!!!!!! I went ballistic I choked that piece of shit till his eyes rolled white as cue balls(I wanted to head butt his face to a bloody pulp with my helmet on). I was almost charged with attempted murder and assault but there were many many witnesses that saw him cause the accident and then put his hands on me first LUCKY ME! And LUCKY HIM HE WAS JUST CHOKED OUT AND NOT DEAD! Anyways i call an attorney as im in the hospital and get my case against him started. Longer story shortened. I ended up breaking off my left heel and crushing the joint Severely breaking 2 toes down into the foot area. I also crushed all the left carple bones in left hand dislocated small hand bone above left pinky. ripped up left ring finger. 1 month in horrible pain and to swollen to operate so only hard core pain meds for 30 days and relaxing to help speed swelling reduction. Then surgery So 9 screws 2 plates and 3 months of rehab i cant work. Foot is fixed NOT! Screws break in the subtalor and the heel detaches\breaks off and the subtalor is destroyed. 1 month on broken heel serious pain and i have to walk around 11hrs a day. Second surgery remediation remove all the hardware and install 4 huge screws and remove knee crown bone marrow to make a fusion at the subtaylor. So end result $125,000 to fix my ankle 2 times. I lost 9 months of work and paychecks to the tune $50,000. I almost got fired and i did get demoted. I suffered on a couch like doped up DRUG ADDICT on morphine tablets for months (4) months to be exact. 1 Month i was so HIGH i just drooled and laid there constipated. and i could not shower so sponge baths only! I couldn't walk. Now im in pain all the time and have a limp badly. I cannot run at all but i can mountain bike and swim for exercise. I have lost a whole group level in riding at the track! I GOT SCREWED HARD!!!!! GET MORE INSURANCE!!!!! DON'T GET SCREWED GET MORE INSURANCE! Total lawsuit results He had $50,000 coverage and i had $25,000 under insured. So my insurance got sued also and combined $75,000.00 Total!! My attorney Tried to sue the loser personally and he had lost his job and had no assets and had minimum insurance coverage. After negotiations I got $28,000.00 my bike totaled $3600.00 NO PAIN SUFFERING, NO LOST WAGES, left ankle fused half numb and toes all F'ed up wont lay flat. Cant run I got ROBBED! I Want kill him with my Tacoma and say i didn't see him like he did to me! Watch your ass man. OH AND I STILL RIDE and i just past a milage milestone. On 2 wheels i have logged 510,000 miles of riding in my lifetime!
I Now carry $500,000.00 under-insured policy! It's gonna cost a lot but its better than being screwed like me!! My attorney said to bad bad you didn't have better underinsurance because you had major pain suffering, broken bones and implants if i was in a car i would have been RICH NO SHIT! makes me sick!

So I've been thinking about my next street bikes. I've decided I'm out on normal sport bikes in the 600 supersport class. They're not practical for me and I really don't need that speed on the street and can't even use it all if I needed to. Plus the seat position and style make it uncomfortable for me to ride on anyway.

The more I research and think about it, the dual sport category just makes more sense to me. I like riding trails and doing adventure type stuff, and wasting 12K+ on a sport bike just doesn't make sense to me. I'm even thinking a little about just keeping the 300 as my "sport" bike for the time being and my next bike being the WR/CRF/DRZ. Less money at this moment and I think I'd get more use out of it. Eventually I think I would get an FZ-09 or similar for my sport bike, but that's way down the line when I actually have a job and savings up.

    Pros/Cons

    WR250R:
    • Pros - Lightest (295#), most suspension travel, most ground clearance, fuel injected, good MPG (~71)
    • Cons - Tallest seat height, low power, second costliest ($6.7k), 2G fuel
    CRF250L:
    • Pros - Shortest seat height, cheapest by far ($5k), fuel injected, good MPG (~73)
    • Cons: Low power, lowest ground clearance, 2G fuel, second heaviest (320#)
    DRZ400SM:
    • Pros - Most powerful, close to most ground clearance, supermoto style from factory, largest brakes
    • Cons - Carbureted, second highest seat, most expensive ($7.2k), heaviest (321#), lower MPG (~50)

All mx/supermoto are typically going to have 2 gallon tanks. Also the drz will get around 60mpg stock. Carbs can be a blessing to, just swap needle/jet for new mods and be done with it.

The wr has a six speed transmission as well. Where the drz has afive speed.

What? Idk how? I averaged easy 60 even after doing the 3x3 and exhaust.

I average 50 with the cams and big bore.

My averages are beating the piss out of my bike all the time.

I fill the tank to the bottom of the cylinder at the top. I go about 90 miles and then have to hit reserve.

Before the mods, i didn't hit reserve until 100-105ish

Well, I do think it helps with overall vehicle safety. I know in MD you can be driving a serious (and unsafe) hunk of junk down the road and there's really nothing to stop you.

A little different opinion when you see the other side of the coin working vehicle wrecks with something that's a true POS.

I think tri-annual or something would make more sense though. Just like I can stretch my registration to tri-annual, it would be nice to just coincide with that.
